Something feels off with your child, but you can’t quite explain it.
More distance. More tension. Maybe anxiety, irritability, or changes in behavior….and you’re not sure what’s normal or what it means.
I help you understand what’s really going on and how to respond in a way that reduces pressure and brings your child closer.
If something feels off, this is the place to begin.

Is This Stress Or Something More?
A quick guide to help you understand what you're seeing.
You might be noticing……...
- Walking on eggshells
- More distance or shutdown
- Tension or conflict
- Constant overwhelm or exhaustion
- Avoidance or procrastination
- Changes in eating
- Feeling like nothing is helping
What you’re noticing isn’t random.
It is often a sign that something deeper is going on beneath the surface.
In many families, healthy stress quietly shifts into something else.
Pressure tied to performance, expectations, or identity.
We live in a high pressure world, and kids often feel expectations they are not sure how to meet.
When performance starts to feel tied to worth, the nervous system moves into survival mode.
That is when coping patterns begin to change.
You might start to see:
- more anxiety or tension
- perfectionism or shutdown
- avoidance or procrastination
- changes in eating or other coping patterns
Unhealthy coping does not start overnight.
It builds when pressure replaces healthy stress and kids do not yet have the tools to manage it.
You do not need to lower standards.
You need a different lens.
How I help
I work with parents of teens and young adults who feel like something has shifted, but are not sure what to do next.
Together, we:
- understand what is really going on beneath the surface
- reduce pressure without lowering expectations
- respond in a way that rebuilds trust and connection.
🌸 About Me
I’m Siah Fried, a certified parent coach and Nationally Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach. I help parents and individuals who feel like something is off, whether that’s disconnection with a child, emotional eating, or changes in your role as a parent. We’ll work together so you can respond with clarity, confidence, and connection as you move FORWARD.
You might be supporting your child, rebuilding connection, or finding your footing as your role as a parent begins to change.
You don’t have to figure this out on your own. Together, we’ll slow things down, make sense of what’s happening, and find a way forward that feels more steady, connected, and sustainable.
I’m not a perfect parent (just ask my kids).Through my own parenting and more than 30 years of experience in clinical health education, academia, and coaching, I’ve listened closely to clients, students, and my own kids to understand what truly helps them thrive, and what doesn’t. Guided by these insights and evidence-based research, I created the Move FORWARD coaching program. I originally developed it to help my clients on the eating disorder spectrum, but it turns out it can help anyone who wants to move forward in their life and leave old coping patterns and unhealthy behaviors in the past.
